Classic versus agile? The question of the appropriate process model in projects is not new, but the answer is increasingly often: both classic and agile – or hybrid! In many cases, it makes sense to use both methods in a project. However, in addition to the advantages, it also brings with it a whole host of challenges – even for experienced project managers. What are the biggest advantages? What consequences does this have for team composition, planning or reporting? This training course will give you an overview of agile and traditional methods. You will learn which elements of the agile approach can be usefully integrated into classic, traditional models.

2-day training / In our training center at Schliersee, in Munich or in-house at your company (on request) / 3-8 participants / Suitable for all departments and industries

Day 1

On the first day of the training you will learn the basics of classic and agile project management.

Introduction and orientation

We get to know each other and talk about our expectations and goals for the training.

Basics of classic project management methods

You will learn about the process: from project preparation to initiating a project, managing the phase transitions and controlling a phase through to the successful completion of the project.

Basics of agile project management methods

In this part of the training you will be familiarized with agility, the agile manifesto, Scrum and Kanban.

Day 2

On the second day, we will delve deeper into hybrid project management and learn about interesting practical solutions.

Mix of methods

You will learn more about classic and agile methods and get to know important principles for a successful fusion and integration of both methods.

Guideline for the selection of methods

Wir besprechen einen Leitfaden zur Auswahl verschiedener Methoden für spezifische Unternehmen oder Projekte. Anhand von Beispielen aus der Praxis lernen Sie, diesen Leitfaden bestmöglich für Ihre Projekte anzuwenden.

Communication, control, visualization

We wrap up the training by looking at the challenges and possible solutions for communicating, controlling and visualizing the progress of hybrid-managed projects.

Goal of the training

This practical training course will prepare you for the successful implementation of your projects. You will learn how to combine classic and agile methods in your projects in the best possible way. Regardless of whether you are responsible for small or large projects – during the workshop you will receive a toolbox of methods and tips that will help you for your future projects. And of course you will also receive a certificate for your successful participation.

Oliver Eslami is Senior Project Manager at Hopmann Marketing Analytics and a certified Scrum Master. He is a passionate project manager and has successfully implemented numerous projects over the past few years. You can benefit from this valuable practical experience during the training. Oliver attaches great importance to ensuring that not only theoretical methods are covered, but that practical relevance is also given high priority.
